Indira Gandhi 105th Birth Anniversary 2022: The birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister and Iron Lady of India.

The first and only female prime minister of Independent India was born on this day on 19 November 1917.

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to the iron lady at Shakti Sthal.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and Senior leader of the congress Bhupinder Hooda paid tribute at the Raj Ghat.

The leader of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi, also paid tribute to the former Indian prime minister.

"Tributes to our former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi Ji on her birth anniversary," PM Modi tweeted on Saturday.

On this day in 1917, Indira Gandhi was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. She was India's first and only woman prime minister.

Her father was Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India. Kamala Nehru, her mother, was a freedom fighter and INC leader as well.

In 1966, Indira Gandhi became India's third prime minister. India supported East Pakistan's independence movement under her leadership.
