On 8 November, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against MLA Jitendra Awhad.

FIR was enrolled against him and 100 party workers for effectively stopping the screening of the film.

Jitendra Awhad and 100 party workers stopped the screening of the film at a mall in Thane and purportedly attacked the viewers.

The film was the Marathi film ‘Har Har Mahadev’, a film based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

As per them the film "misshaped the Maratha history and such films wouldn't be permitted to be released in the state".

An FIR has been enrolled by Thane police in a complaint by the businessman who had gone to watch the film with his wife but was forcibly told to leave.

Jitendra Awhad and party workers were booked under sections 146 (rioting), 321 (voluntarily causing hurt)

323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 406 (punishment for breach of trust) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).
